British Columbia is set in full motion to provide with online casinos that are legally playable by their citizens by 2010.

The British Columbia Lotteries Commission (BCLC) is already providing with horseracing bets, lottery and online sports betting. They are expecting to save the lot of revenues which are escaping to the pockets of offshore companies from online casino gamblers.

The CEO and President of the BCLC, Michael Graydon has to say that if the online casinos were legalized and provided by the state, the state will make revenues from taxes and also from casino profits, which in turn is a method to prevent revenues from flowing out to offshore companies. The money of the Country will stay within the country per this plan.

The BC online casino is likely to feature online blackjack, casino craps, roulette, keno, video poker and online slot machines.  These games essentially are reported to suck out 87 million from British Columbian Gamblers.

It is felt that British Columbians are going to be willing to spend their money in the BC online casino for they are aware of the BCLC brand. The BCLC is also working towards a few responsible gambling plans.

If the BCLC is going to execute the plan, then it is going to be the first ever incident in history where a government will be establishing a monopoly in online casino gambling.

With several governments seeking to regulate online casinos it is expected that several governments might take up the idea of monopolizing their rights in the online casino games. With the government stepping in to business, there are going to be other private operators trying to compete with the deals provided by the BCLC.
