A man was arrested in connection to a stolen car that was used in the robbery of a local casino after he turned himself in.
The police had an arrest warrant out for Shacorey Remond Bell of Shreveport. We was taken into police custody and taken to the Caddo Correctional Center, and is being charged with possession of stolen property.
According to the detectives on the case, the car that was stolen from the Southwood Village Apartments in Shreveport on June 30th was used as the getaway car on July 1st during an armed robbery of the Relay Station Casino. The police found the car abandoned less then a mile from the casino after the robbery.
Inside the car the police found evidence that eventually led them to the conclusion that Bell stole the car and was involved in the casinos robbery.
According to the police on the 1st of July several masked men stormed into the casino armed with assault rifles. The casino is part of the Relay Station Truck Stop on Highway 1 South. 2 casino employees and a security guard were tied up by the thieves before they stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the casino.
Th epolice are still investigating the case and searching for the missing money and the other people involved in the robbery. The police are asking that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 673-7300
